Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 680 enterprises have moved from the territory of Mykolaiv region to safer regions. Another 800 were destroyed, damaged or completely ceased operations.

Vitalii Kim, the head of Mykolayiv RMA, told about this in an interview with hromadske.

According to the head of the region, in general, 30% of businesses are currently operating in the region — the drop in numbers has tripled. A better situation is observed in farming.

«About 30% of the business is working. But look: this is the average temperature in the ward. If we take farmers, they work at 86%. If we talk about the port infrastructure, then it is 0%,» said Vitalii Kim.

He also emphasized that locally, but entrepreneurs are implementing large projects in the region, which the head of the RMA personally oversees. However, this does not give an impetus to the mass work of businesses, because for this entrepreneurs must work in safe conditions.

As of 2024, 680 enterprises have already moved from the region to work. Vitalii Kim says he hopes for support from the authorities to cover the damages.

«680 enterprises moved from the Mykolaiv region to safer regions. Another 800 are not working, damaged or destroyed. This is a very large number for Mykolaiv. I hope for the support of the state, for the allocation of funds, for covering the losses related to the relocation,» he said.

Which of the Mykolaiv enterprises resumed their activities during the war?

After the liberation of the right bank of the Kherson region from the Russian occupiers, entrepreneurs in the Mykolaiv region began to partially resume their business activities.

In particular, as of May 2023, the work of four large enterprises was resumed. We are talking about the Agrofusion and PepsiCo companies, the Yantar brewery and the Nibulon company.

In April, it became known about the resumption of work at the tomato processing plant of the Agrofusion company in the deoccupied Snihurivka. PepsiCo resumed its operations in early May.

Restoration of the war-damaged capacities of the companies takes place at their own expense, as Vitalii Kim said earlier.

The head of Mykolayiv RMA also said that the most difficult process of resumption of work in the region is for agricultural enterprises. This is due to the large number of mined territories.

Among those who actually stopped their work at the beginning of the full-scale invasion was the Mykolaiv Alumina Plant.

The company's corporate rights have been under arrest since June 2022. In May 2023, the head of the Mykolaiv regional administration, Vitaly Kim, said that only 300 employees remained at the plant out of the 6,000 that were there before the war. They are mainly engaged in the protection and maintenance of sludge fields.
