Kim: Money for treatment plant for new water supply system in Mykolaiv allocated from state budget

Funds for the modernisation of treatment facilities for the new water supply system in Mykolaiv will be allocated from the state budget. This will be a temporary solution to get the water supply system fully operational.

The head of the Mykolaiv regional military administration, Vitalii Kim, told NikVesti.

Later, the city is going to build new treatment facilities that will provide drinking water in the taps of Mykolaiv residents, he explained.

«I will give you, as they say, an exclusive. The water supply system will be completed around July or early August, for sure. The city has two projects with international partners at the treatment plant there. The modernisation is extensive, it will take time — about two years.

But due to the savings, we are being allocated additional money and modern facilities are being built nearby — the part that is necessary to provide clean water. This is just as the Ministry of Community Development of the territory said,» said Vitalii Kim.

According to him, the water supply system can be fully operational in October 2025: in conjunction with the treatment plant.

«As for the deadline, the contractor says it's October. And the water supply contractor, the company «Autostrada», has accelerated its work. You can see what is happening in the region. They are working like ants, they will make it. That is, their pace and capacity will allow them to fulfil the president's task and do it on time. The timeframe is approximately the same,» explained Vitalii Kim.

As a reminder, Serhii Sukhomlyn, Head of the State Agency for Reconstruction, said that about 70 million hryvnias is needed to reconstruct the water treatment facilities of the water utility to launch a new water supply system in Mykolaiv.
