Ochakiv Mayor Serhii Bychkov will receive a monthly bonus of 20% of his salary for high achievements in work or for performing particularly important work.

The decision was made during a session of the Ochakiv City Council, according to NikVesti.

The relevant amendments were made to the decision of the City Council of 13 May 2022 №11. The increase will also take into account the current surcharge for rank and length of service.

It is worth noting that in May 2024, law enforcement officers opened proceedings against the mayor of Ochakiv, Serhii Bychkov, who had previously been found to have signs of illicit enrichment by the NACP. It turned out that in 2022, the mayor of Ochakiv, Serhii Bychkov, purchased an apartment in Spain worth more than 5 million hryvnias.

In response, Bychkov himself promised to provide information about all his income over the past eight years.

However, there was no report from the mayor. As of 2025, the mayor's declaration is still classified in the state register of declarations.

It is worth reminding that at the beginning of the war in 2022, Serhii Bychkov did not allow journalists to work in Ochakiv, and the deputy mayor commented on this as follows: «Don`t come here».

Although later, the Ochakiv mayor's office explained Bychkov's absence from the public space by his dislike of such communication and admitted that media closure did not save the community from shelling and occupation. The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military District Administration explained Bychkov's closed behaviour and the lack of reports on the results of his work by the fact that he is «a non-public person».
