At the next meeting, the Verkhovna Rada will consider the issue of banning the activity of religious organizations associated with the Russian Orthodox Church.

Oleksandr Korniienko, the First Deputy Speaker of the VRU, announced this at the Ukraine Media Center

According to him, this issue of regulating the activities of religious organizations is one of the first on the agenda.

«In fact, this is a draft law, which is popularly called «prohibiting the Moscow church or ties with Moscow for churches.» By the way, the President spoke on this draft law, and we heard his support, the support of the Head of the Office yesterday. The day before yesterday, there was also communication — the Ukrainian Council of Churches supported it, and all our holy fathers spoke, of all denominations — both the Greek Catholic Church and, of course, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. I think that it is important to adopt this draft law, we can see what kind of discussions this issue is causing in society,» said Oleksandr Kornienko.

We will remind you that the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations supported the legislative initiative to ban the activities of religious organizations associated with the Russian Orthodox Church.
