Ukraine's Defence Minister Rustem Umierov said that on 2 June, during talks in Istanbul, the Russian delegation handed over a document with its own proposals for a peaceful settlement to Ukraine.
He said this at a press conference broadcast by «Suspilne».
According to the minister, the Ukrainian side handed over its version of the document a few days ago, but Russia has not yet provided any response. Now both delegations plan to study the exchanged documents within a week.
«A few days ago, we shared our document with the Russian side, but there was no response from them regarding their document. It was only during today's discussion that we received the delegation's document. Our teams will be working for a week, after which we will be able to coordinate further steps,» Rustem Umierov said.
He also stressed that Ukraine had focused on three key issues during the talks: an unconditional ceasefire, the exchange of prisoners and a meeting of leaders.
Rustem Umierov also said that during the second round of talks in Istanbul, Ukraine and Russia reached an agreement on the exchange of several categories of prisoners of war.
