More than ₴500 million for «green» energy: Mykolaiv plans to build a wind farm

Mykolaiv plans to build a 12 megawatt wind farm for 552 million hryvnias.

The relevant data is contained in the DREAM digital system, according to NikVesti.

The initiator is the utility company «Mykolaivoblteploenergo». The project involves the installation of six wind turbines and diesel generators that will operate in a single system.

The key goal of the project is to increase energy efficiency, reduce the community's dependence on external energy sources, and upgrade infrastructure damaged during the full-scale invasion.

The project has already approved design and estimate documentation, has passed environmental certification, and is in line with state strategic plans in the energy sector.

It is noted that the service will be available to 200,000 to 430,000 people.

The implementation involves several stages. The first is the design phase, which will last from June to the end of December this year and will cost more than UAH 55 million. The purchase and installation of equipment is scheduled for the period from January to April 2026, which is another almost 166 million hryvnias.

The main construction phase will start in January 2026 and last until September of the same year. More than 330 million hryvnias will be allocated for it. The total duration of the project is about two years.

We are currently looking for sources of funding. There are also plans to raise international funds.

Earlier, the Mykolaiv City Council set up a working group to develop the city's Energy Sustainability Plan.
