In the Chernivtsi region, border guards detained five men who tried to illegally cross the border with Romania. Offenders of conscription age were traveling in two cars, accompanied by minor «guides».

This was reported by the State Border Service.

It is noted that the servicemen of the operational unit of the Chernivtsi detachment received information about the evaders during operational measures and therefore acted confidently and promptly. During the detention, the violators tried to escape, but they did not succeed.

«As it was established, five men agreed through a messenger with the main organizer of the scheme to be transported to Romania for a monetary reward of 6 to 7 thousand euros each,» the report says.

The agency added that the organizers had four assistants. Their duties included meeting «clients», delivering them to a certain point by car, and then taking them to the state border line on foot. It was during the first stage that violators were detained.

«During the detention, the violators tried to escape, but they did not succeed. According to the results of the inspection, the border guards found out that the two conductors were only 15 years old, and another one, who was driving one of the cars, was 17 years old,» the SSGSU emphasized.

The border guards handed over the minor guides to their parents, and regarding the 17-year-old, they sent a report to the law enforcement authorities under Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine «Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine» and Article 304 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine «Involvement of minors in criminal activity.»

Regarding the rest of the violators, materials were prepared under Articles 185-10 and 204-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.

It will be recalled that a native of Luhansk, who served in the SSGSU, will be tried in absentia as a Russian agent who, since 2014, has been passing on information to the occupiers about the location of Ukrainian troops.
