Kherson is a city in southern Ukraine, the administrative center of Kherson region, located on the banks of the Dnipro River. Kherson holds strategic importance due to its geographic location and role as a transport and industrial hub. The city was occupied by Russian forces on March 2, 2022, and remained under occupation until it was liberated by Ukrainian forces on November 11, 2022.
