Kherson has signed a strategic partnership agreement with two French cities, Nantes and Saint-Nazaire.
This was reported by the Congress of Local and Regional Councils under the President of Ukraine.
The cooperation provides support in the restoration and development of urban infrastructure, in particular in water management, implementation of environmental initiatives and introduction of modern approaches to urban planning.
«The French experience will be valuable for Kherson, which suffered from the war. This partnership is not just a formality, but real support and joint work for the future,» said Ambassador of Ukraine to France Vadym Omelchenko.
The agreement was signed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to France Vadym Omelchenko, the mayors of Nantes and Saint-Nazaire — Joan Roland and David Samzun, as well as the deputy mayor of Kherson Vitaliy Belobrov.
Earlier it was reported that two rehabilitation units and four mental health centres will be set up in Odesa region on the basis of local hospitals. The project is being implemented with the support of the French organisation Expertise France and the French Development Agency (AFD).
