Ukraine is preparing to introduce joint customs and border control on its borders with the European Union.
This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal at a government meeting.
The Prime Minister said that Ukraine is creating a single logistics space with the EU to allow people and goods to move quickly and without obstacles in both directions from the border.
Therefore, a pilot project is planned to be launched in 2025 on the Ukrainian-Polish border.
«The third area of our work is the launch of joint customs and border control on the borders with the EU. We expect a pilot project to be launched this year on the Ukrainian-Polish border», said Denys Shmyhal.
He also noted that the relevant agreement with the European Commission is currently being negotiated. It is expected that joint border control will significantly save time for people and businesses, bringing Ukraine even closer to the European Union.
Earlier it was reported that a customs terminal with a capacity for 50 cars and a warehouse of more than 350 square metres was opened in Kryve Ozero, Mykolaiv region.
