Mykolaiv Lyceums №22 and №55 received generators from benefactors. The cost of each is more than half a million hryvnias.

This was reported by the Business Support Center.

Each of the generators has a capacity of 25 kW and is capable of providing electricity to large educational institutions. In Lyceum №22, this equipment will allow powering all buildings of the institution during blackouts.

The initiative was implemented thanks to the joint efforts of the Ukraine Task Force of Rotary Germany, «Rotary Club of Mykolaiv» and the humanitarian headquarters «Center for Business Support and Economic Development». The organizers promise to transfer additional generators to other educational institutions of the city by the end of the month.

How generators work

The principle of operation of an autonomous mini-power station is to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy using a phenomenon such as electromagnetic induction. For this, a gasoline generator is equipped with an internal combustion engine, which rotates the rotor in a magnetic field, creating an alternating electric current. The generator design includes the following components:

  • internal combustion engine;
  • an alternator that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy;
  • fuel system;
  • cooling system;
  • automatic voltage regulation system;
  • control and monitoring devices.
