«They didn't pass the exam until September 1», — Dombrovska criticized the Department of Education for not being ready for school shelters

The head of the «Servant of the People» faction in the Mykolaiv City Council, Tetiana Dombrovska, criticized the management of the city's education department for improper preparation of school shelters.

The deputy said this during a broadcast on the «MART» television station.

Tatiana Dombrovska believes that most parents are unable to go to work because their children study online. The deputy claims that the level of arrangement of semi-basement premises in educational institutions does not meet the necessary safety conditions.

— Children should be socialized, go to school, to some dances, attend clubs. Today, the mother, who returned to Mykolaiv, unfortunately cannot go to work, because the child is in online education. There are no shelters, this is a painful issue for Mykolaiv. I was in one of the lyceums and saw that the classrooms, where children had been studying for years, had some pipes laid there today and called it a shelter. It seems to me that the Department of Education should have taken care of this in advance, — said Tetiana Dombrovska.

The deputy stated that the Department of Education had failed to prepare the shelters by September 1.

— They did not pass the exam until September 1. Shelters are being built, but September 1 has already passed and our children are at home, online. Practically, they have not had training in recent years: it was covid, now we have no storage. «My child has completed the 11th grade and I know it is difficult for them to study higher education offline because they have been at home for the last few years», — she added.

We remind, the other day journalists were shown how educational institutions in Mykolaiv are setting up a shelter for schoolchildren for the period of the start of offline education.

As you know, 57 educational institutions were allowed to work offline in the Mykolaiv region. These are mostly schools of Voznesenskyy and Pervomayskyy districts. In addition, 94 schools work mixed, that is, children study offline in a certain sequence, for example, one week after another. In addition, 277 educational institutions work online.

Earlier, Vitalii Kim explained that the decision on the offline operation of city schools will be made by the Office of the President and the Ministry of Education.

It is worth noting that earlier in response to the information request of «NikVesti» regarding the criteria that educational institutions of Mykolaiv must meet in order to resume full-time work in the 2023-2024 academic year, the city's education department reported: schools will work in accordance with the recommendations of the State Emergency Service and the Sanitary Regulations approved by the Ministry Health Care. The first is the availability of shelter, and the second is drinking water at school.

Earlier it was reported that in Mykolaiv from September they plan to open about 13 schools for offline education. In some educational institutions, parents will be able to choose whether to send their children to study or stay at home. However, it later became known that schools may remain closed for visits, as Mykolaiv is still in the zone of ballistic defeat.

According to the monitoring of the Department of Education of the Mykolaiv City Council, 65% of schoolchildren want to study full-time.

For the beginning of the academic year, the Department of Education of the City Council announces tenders for the organization of shelters in schools in an offline format. Yes, the shelter in school No. 23 will be repaired for 2.2 million hryvnias, and in Lyceum No. 58 for 2.6 million hryvnias.

At the same time, the publication «Ukrainian Pravda» together with the saved fund, as part of the «Back to school again» campaign, announced a fundraiser for the construction of a shelter for the Mykolaiv Lyceum No. 55, which in the new academic year should become a key school in the city district.
