In the new academic year, 15 schools are to be opened in the right-bank part of Kherson region in a mixed format.

Oleksandr Tolokonnikov, deputy head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, told the «Yedyni Novyny» telethon.

He reminded that last year there were only 6 schools in 6 settlements in the region. That is why the Kherson Regional State Administration has set a goal to double the number of educational institutions that would operate in a mixed format.

«Last academic year, only 6 schools were able to teach in a mixed form — online, offline, when one part of the children studies in the morning and the other part studies in the afternoon. It was in 6 settlements. Currently, we have a plan to launch 15 schools with underground shelters where children can study,» Tolokonnikov said.

The official emphasised that the region continues to restore educational institutions and equip new shelters. This is necessary to compensate for the educational losses of children caused by both the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia's full-scale invasion.
