The project “Voices of Mykolaiv: Fact-based and Inclusive Storytelling” aims to strengthen democratic dialogue and civic participation in southern Ukraine through independent journalism. Implemented by the NGO Mykolaiv Media Hub and based on the newsroom of NikVesti, the initiative ensures public access to timely and verified local news, highlights civic initiatives, and amplifies people’s voices through stories based on citizens’ complaints and appeals.
The project promotes a better understanding of local governance and recovery processes while encouraging engagement in democratic dialogue, particularly among vulnerable groups. It also includes the development of an accessible website version for people with visual impairments to ensure inclusion and equal access to fact-based information.
