Yaroslava Mahuchikh was nominated for the award of the best female track and field athlete in Europe in 2024

The European Athletics Federation (European Athletics) announced the nominees for the title of the best female athlete in 2024, among them Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Mahuchikh.

For the honorary award, the 23-year-old Ukrainian will compete with nine other athletes: Femke Bol, Sifan Hassan, Yemisi Ogunleye, Nadia Battokletti, Nafissatu Thiam, Keely Hodgkinson, Malaika Mihambo, Natalia Kaczmarek and Sirena Samba-Mayela.

We will remind that Yaroslava Mahuchikh took first place in the high jump final at the 2024 Olympic Games. She brought Ukraine the fifth medal at this year's Games.

Yaroslava Mahuchikh also set a new world record in women's high jump, reaching a height of 2.10 meters.

Ukrainian track and field athlete Yaroslava Maguchih, who won gold at the 2024 Olympics, donated 500,000 hryvnias to help the wounded soldiers of Azov.
