The Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office has reported that four criminal groups have been dismantled in the past six months

This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, according to NikVesti.
The exposed criminal groups comprised 13 individuals who, according to the investigation, committed 29 criminal offences. The total amount of damage caused stands at 114.6 million hryvnias. In addition, assets belonging to the suspects worth over 21.6 million hryvnias have been seized.
Among the criminal groups uncovered, two were involved in drug trafficking, one in extortion, and another organised a scheme to evade taxes and duties.

Over the six-month period, 11 indictments were referred to court relating to abuses in the public sector, the illegal trafficking of excise goods and the distribution of counterfeit foreign currency.
In these cases, losses totalling 129.66 million hryvnias have been established. Civil claims have already been filed for the full amount, and assets belonging to those involved, worth over 35.2 million hryvnias, have been seized.

Screenshot from the prosecutor’s officeThe Prosecutor’s Office has also summarised the work of the Territorial Directorate of the State Bureau of Investigation in Mykolaiv for the first half of the year. During this period, 15 indictments against 18 individuals were referred to court (compared with 10 indictments against 10 individuals during the same period last year).
The majority of the cases — 11 in total — involve signs of corruption (particularly in the public sector and offences against national security). One case each relates to land matters and offences against peace and the international legal order.
The following have been charged:

11 police officers;
-
2 employees of the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection;

1 employee of the State Enterprise «Forests of Ukraine»;
-
1 emergency services officer (State Emergency Service);
-
the head of the Domanivka Territorial Community;
-
the mayor of one of the region’s towns.
The courts have already handed down 12 convictions in these cases.
It should be noted that during the first half of 2026, prosecutors in the Mykolaiv region referred 922 indictments to the courts. These included dozens of cases involving corruption, offences relating to public finances, drug trafficking, as well as evasion of military conscription and the illegal smuggling of men across the state border.
In addition, the prosecutor’s office reported that, over the first six months of 2026, a fall in the crime rate of almost 15 per cent was recorded in Mykolaiv. There was a reduction in the number of serious crimes, intentional homicides and criminal offences against property.
