The authorities of Toretsk conducted a forced evacuation of residents from the city, but some people returned secretly.

Vasyl Chynchyk, the head of the Toretsk City Military Administration, told about this, Radio Svoboda informs.

According to official data, 4,500 people remained in Toretsk. But when the intensity of shelling increased, during which the enemy mercilessly destroys our infrastructure and inflicts fatal blows, more people wanted to evacuate.

The head of the RMA informed that during the past week, rescuers and policemen in armored cars took about 1,400 people out of the city.

«The Russians are actively striking from aviation, destroying not only residential buildings, but also infrastructure. There is a high probability that vehicles may come under attack,» said Vasyl Chynchyk.

According to him, there may be families with children among those who remain in the city, despite the fact that the authorities carried out their forced evacuation.

«Sometimes we recorded that parents officially left through checkpoints, but later secretly returned to the community bypassing checkpoints and brought back their children. Sometimes these children were not let out of the houses so that no one would see them. Such cases are not unique, when someone had to be forcibly evacuated a second, third, and even sixth time,» he said.

Earlier, Vasyl Chinchyk said that the Russians inflict 10-20 airstrikes on the community every day. As of the end of October 2021, about 35 thousand people lived in Toretsk.

It was previously reported that the Ukrainian military near Bakhmut destroys up to 80% of Russian equipment that falls within the range of artillery and UAVs.
