Another 16 Ukrainian children have been rescued from occupation and returned to the territory controlled by Ukraine.

The head of the Presidential Office, Andrii Yermak, announced this on Telegram.

According to him, the children spent years under pressure from the occupation authorities and in conditions of humiliation, but are now safe.

«Among these stories is a girl who was constantly afraid for her mother. The woman was kept in the basement for three days without food and water only because the child's father serves in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Another teenager was taken to the military registration and enlistment office without his parents' knowledge instead of going to school. A two-year-old girl with a high fever was not allowed to go to the hospital by the Russian military, and her mother was forced to carry her across a pontoon bridge in the dark», said the head of the OP.

The families are now receiving help: they are restoring their documents and undergoing psychological rehabilitation.

The return of the children took place as part of the initiative of the President of Ukraine Bring Kids Back UA.

As reported earlier, NikVesti wrote that a 14-year-old girl who was threatened to be taken to a boarding school was evacuated from the occupied Kherson region.
