The co-founder of monobank, Oleh Horohovskyi, said that after a conflict with the Dnipro tax service, he decided to change his place of residence to Mykolaiv and pay taxes to the local budget.

He wrote about this in his Telegram channel.

Oleh Horohovskyi said that throughout his life he paid taxes in Dnipro, even after moving to Kyiv, he did not change his registration, continuing to pay significant amounts of personal income tax. However, even small incomes from business activities were of interest to the tax service, which questioned their transparency.

«As you probably guessed, I am one of the biggest taxpayers in my area. During this time, as is customary in our country, I received nothing but the close attention of the tax authorities to my reporting and the desire to find what I was hiding. The last straw was a four-page request for an explanation of the income of 70 thousand 800 hryvnias, which I reported as income for the balance of funds in the Interactive brokers account and for which I also paid personal income tax — 13 thousand hryvnias. They were interested in this income and sent a four-page request with a demand to explain everything, including, as usual, the main question — who killed Kennedy,» says Oleh Horokhovskyi.

Due to these circumstances, Oleh Horokhovskyi accepted the invitation of the head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitalii Kim, to move to Mykolaiv and pay taxes there. The businessman rented an apartment and registered in Mykolaiv, continuing his business activities in a new place. According to the businessman, the city administration now thanks him every time he receives personal income tax to the budget.

«But this story has a happy ending. I had dinner with Vitalii Kim, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, and he told me: «We have a front-line region, business is difficult, we collect few taxes, come to us in Mykolaiv, pay our taxes, we will carry you in our arms.» And I rented an apartment and registered in Mykolaiv. I pay taxes there. They don't carry me on their hands, but every time I receive personal income tax to the budget of Mykolaiv, Vitalii calls me and says «Thank you!», he notes.

The banker thanked the head of Mykolaiv RMA for his support and respectful attitude towards business, and called on other entrepreneurs to consider moving to Mykolaiv, where, according to him, they are valued and respected.

«And I want to say Thank you, Vitalii (Kim, — note). Officials who value entrepreneurs who pay taxes honestly are what separate a country with a healthy business climate from a sick one. Yes, we still have a minority of people like Vitaly, but if we encourage such a respectful attitude to business, there will be more such managers in the state. Pay taxes in Mykolaiv! You will be appreciated and respected there,» summed up Oleh Horohovskyi.
