Archive photo: NikVestiIn 2026, the grant programme for the development of horticulture and greenhouse farming was extended in the Mykolaiv region. The state will compensate up to 70% of project costs, and for frontline areas — between 50% and 80%.
This was announced by Yurii Yaskiv, head of the land issues division at the Department of Agricultural Development of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, during a briefing, according to NikVesti.
According to him, the grant for establishing orchards amounts to up to 400,000 hryvnias per hectare, but not more than 10 million hryvnias. Between 2 and 7 million hryvnias are allocated for the construction of greenhouses.
«The Ukrainian government, together with international partners, is taking measures to provide assistance to farmers, with a particular focus on frontline territories. Indeed, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has already adopted a series of decisions to support farmers, on whom the country’s food security depends in the context of a full-scale war,» noted Yurii Yaskiv.
In addition, a new support initiative was launched this year — the construction of vegetable and fruit storage facilities with a capacity of 3,000 tonnes or more. The state will cover up to 30% of construction costs (up to 20 million hryvnias), and up to 50% for frontline areas. Co-financing and job creation are mandatory conditions.
It was also noted that farmers can receive up to 50% compensation for the costs of constructing and renovating systems, but no more than 26,500 hryvnias per hectare. For water user organisations, compensation of up to 10% of the cost of repairing pumping stations is provided. In de-occupied territories, the level of support can reach 80%.
Separate assistance is provided for other sectors, in particular aquaculture. For frontline territories, up to 30% of the costs of fish stock are compensated. Direct support for farmers is also available — up to 1,000 hryvnias per hectare.
According to the Ministry of Economy, in 2025, aid totalling 210 million hryvnias was approved for 570 agricultural enterprises in the Mykolaiv region. Payments are planned for 2026, subject to available funding.
It should be noted that in 2025, farmers in the Mykolaiv region produced less agricultural output than in the previous year. The overall figure fell to 86%, with the sharpest decline recorded in crop production, whilst livestock farming was less affected.
