In the «Heart of the City» square in Mykolaiv, repairs have begun on a section of the pavement where the ground subsided after frosts and the paving tiles were damaged.

Part of the pavement has already been dismantled. The section has been cordoned off with warning tape, and the area has been covered with sand to prepare the base for new paving.

Ihor Nabatov, deputy director of the Mykolaiv Housing and Utilities Department, confirmed in a comment to NikVesti that the regional military administration had responded to the appeal regarding the damage to the pavement.

«The appeal was sent to the Regional Military Administration regarding the contractor's possible warranty obligations. We contacted the regional administration, where we were informed that they had already contacted the contractor, and that it was to begin work in the near future. In fact, you found out even before I did that they had already started. I cannot give an exact date for the completion of the work at this time, but in any case, the Regional Military Administration and the contractor are resolving this issue,» said Ihor Nabatov.

It should be noted that Ihor Nabatov previously reported that this section is located above the water pipeline. The construction of the facility was carried out on behalf of the RMA's architecture department. Earlier, the city council transferred the functions of the customer for a number of water pipelines, including this one, to the regional department.

According to information from the Mykolaivvodokanal Municipal Enterprise, the RMA Architecture Department has not yet put the facility into operation or transferred it to the enterprise's balance sheet. In this regard, the water pipeline is not being used to supply water to consumers. It is preliminarily assumed that the subsidence could be related to a leak in the underground water pipeline.
