Defence forces strike an airfield in Russia: Two aircraft damaged

On the night of 9 June, the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces, together with other units of the Defence Forces, attacked the Russian military airfield «Savasleyka» in the Nizhnii Novgorod region.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, this airfield is used by Russia for strikes against Ukraine.

In particular, MiG-31K fighters armed with aerial ballistic missiles regularly take off from there «Kinzhal».

According to preliminary data, the strike damaged two Russian aircraft — probably MiG-31 and Su-30 or Su-34. The final results are being clarified.

On the night of 9 June, several Russian regions were attacked by drones. In particular, in Chuvashia, a fire broke out at an enterprise that supplies equipment for the military needs of the Russian Federation.

Later, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the attack on the enterprise «VNIIR-Progress». It is located more than a thousand kilometres from the Ukrainian border and produces parts for attack drones «Shahed».
