Last year, the incidence of tuberculosis in Mykolaiv region decreased by 17% compared to 2023.

This was announced by Volodymyr Klochko, director of the Mykolaiv Regional Centre for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health, at a briefing on 21 March, NikVesti reports.

According to him, last year 458 people fell ill with tuberculosis in the region, including eight children. This statistical indicator of the incidence is 17% less than in 2023.

«In 2024, the incidence in the Mykolaiv region was reduced by 17% compared to 2023. However, I would like to remind you that 458 cases were registered, including eight children. I urge everyone to vaccinate their children and lead a healthy lifestyle: this includes household behaviour and hygiene skills. This is especially true for those people who may come into contact with patients», said Volodymyr Klochko.

As a reminder, in January 2025, the number of cases of pulmonary tuberculosis continued to decline in Mykolaiv region. Thus, 27 new cases were recorded, while in January last year this figure was 50.
