The swans in love were moved from the center of Mykolaiv to Varvarivka

The metal sculpture of swans in love, which was recently removed from Flotsky Boulevard in Mykolaiv, appeared in Varvarivka.

Andriy Lysenko, a resident of Mykolaiv, reported this.

«City swans ended up in Varvarivtsi Park,» he wrote.

In the comments to the post, it is noted that the swans were installed yesterday, February 13. Judging by the photo, they were placed in Soldier Square.

The sculpture was removed from the boulevard in the city center in January. Then the Mykolaiv Parks utility company explained that it had been taken away for repairs.

«Employees of the KP «Mykolaiv Parks» dismantled this sculpture for its further repair and restoration. So that this romantic composition will continue to delight the eyes of residents and guests of the city,» the message read.

Why they decided not to return the swans to their place is still unknown.

The structure was donated to the city in 2012. The author of the composition was Yuriy Motorny, who noted that the creation of the composition was inspired by a woman, his wife.

From the moment it was installed, a tradition of attaching locks to it as a symbol of love and unity appeared among newlyweds in Mykolaiv.

We will remind that in May 2023, the sculptures of marble «Arkas» lions were returned to Chestnut Square in Mykolaiv, from where they were dismantled for storage after the full-scale invasion of the Russian army into Ukraine.
