Recently, deputy ambassadors of the NB8 countries: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden visited Mykolaiv region.
The visit was part of a trip organised by the Danish Embassy in Ukraine.
The diplomats visited the office of the Danish Embassy in Mykolaiv, held meetings with local authorities, and visited a number of infrastructure facilities.
During their stay in the city, the delegation got acquainted with the projects implemented with the support of Denmark. In particular, the Mykola Arkas Lyceum, which is being restored after the Russian missile attack. The restoration is funded by the Danish government.
«This work symbolises hope and a long-term commitment to rebuilding social infrastructure», the statement said.
In addition, they visited the Mykolaiv Heat and Power Plant and the Tiligul Wind Farm. The embassy stressed that the wind farm project is an important stage in the green transition and strengthening of Ukraine's energy independence.
«Denmark is proud to support Ukraine's largest wind energy project through its partnership with DTEK Group and VESTAS. This project is a key element of Ukraine's green transition and energy independence. The Danish Embassy was pleased to share its experience with colleagues, demonstrating how a unique partnership between a country, on the one hand, and a city and region, on the other, can work in practice», the embassy said.
Earlier it was reported that Denmark is going to continue to finance the restoration of residential areas damaged by shelling in Mykolaiv. However, this will happen only after the completion of such works in the spring of 2025 in the Lisky and Korabelnyi districts.
