Ukroboronprom and the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to cooperate in the defence industry of both countries.
This was announced by Herman Smetanin, Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine.
He noted that the agreement includes the production of ammunition, maintenance of armoured vehicles and artillery, and strengthening of air defence.
It is also planned to develop financial mechanisms to attract instruments and funds provided for by the European Defence Strategy (EDIS) and the European Defence Industrial Programme (EDIP).
«I am grateful to the Government of Poland for promoting cooperation between our defence industries at such a high level. This support is extremely valuable in the conditions in which the Ukrainian defence industry is developing. Today, we have a huge need for explosives and critical components. We also need to deepen cooperation not just at the level of defence companies, but also at the level of industries,» the Ukrainian minister said.
Earlier it was reported that arms supplies to Ukraine from the United States had been suspended in recent days, but resumed last weekend.
