«Life after war, captivity, death»: Kulish Kherson Theater performed in Mykolaiv with a monologue about the life of a Ukrainian woman from Donbas

In a shelter near the Mykolaiv House of Fleet Officers (HFO), the Kherson Regional Academic Music and Drama Theater named after Mykola Kulish presented a solo performance about the life of a refugee from Donbass in 2014, «Kitty in Memory of Darkness».

This was reported by the correspondent of NikVesti.

The performance based on the play by Neda Nezhdana, a native of Kramatorsk, «Kitty on the Memory of the Darkness» is the story of a displaced woman who has her own dramatic life story. There was a family, a husband, a daughter, a home, but there was nothing left, except a small pussy.

During her monologue, the main character was simultaneously preparing borscht, which she then treated to everyone present in the hall.

Before the full-scale war, the actors had already performed this play with another actress in the lead role. However, during the occupation, the woman played on stage under the leadership of the Russians.

Currently, the main role is played by the actress Olha Boitsova, who lived in the occupation for some time, but was able to leave for Khmelnytsk.

The performance was renewed in September 2022 already in Mykolaiv. Today, the story that happened in the Donbass almost 10 years ago is being compared with the events in the Kherson region.

The performance took place in a renovated warehouse near the HFO, which was decided to be organized as an art space a few months ago with its own funds, said the organizer of the performance, Volodymyr Aleksieiev.
