6 million 100 thousand hryvnias have been allocated from the regional budget of the Mykolaiv Oblast for 2024 to improve the public notification system.

The Deputy Head of the Department for Civil Protection of the Population, Olena Horbachova, told about it, writes NikVesti.

She explained this by the fact that the notification system in the Mykolaiv region was built in the 80s of the last century and was based on analog equipment. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, this system began to be improved, in particular, to switch from analog to digital signal transmission channels.

«The sirens are improving, they are reaching the level where we do not depend on the power grid. This is very important, because if the network goes down, then we have no signal. We already have some sirens that work automatically regardless of the network. And the devices themselves are also being modernized, they have more modern functions,» said Olena Horbachova.

Also, 1 million 600 thousand hryvnias were allocated from the regional budget this year for the maintenance of the notification system.

«To ensure stable functioning, the management constantly carries out technical maintenance of this equipment to replace those devices that have failed. Such work is carried out systematically,» the management said.

We will remind, earlier the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, said that shelters in Mykolaiv can be equipped with a system of automated access to storage facilities to avoid situations when they are locked during an air raid.
