Repair refers to the process of restoring or improving the condition of objects, structures, equipment, or infrastructure. Repairs may focus on eliminating damage or preventing it from occurring. In the context of urban infrastructure, repair works are essential for maintaining roads, buildings, water supply networks, heating systems, power grids, and other systems in proper condition.

Types of repairs:

  • Routine repair: regular maintenance to keep facilities in good condition (e.g., replacing lightbulbs, patching road surfaces, painting facades).
  • Emergency repair: urgent restoration of damages or faults that pose a safety threat (e.g., fixing a pipeline burst, restoring power supply after a breakdown).
  • Major repair: large-scale work involving full or partial renewal of an object (e.g., road reconstruction, replacement of utility networks, building restoration).

City repair works also include measures for infrastructure modernization, enhancing energy efficiency, and improving durability.
