Deputies of the Mykolaiv Regional Council want to check shelters in hospitals

Deputies of the Mykolaiv Regional Council want to conduct inspections of the state of protective structures in medical institutions.

The creation of a group that will conduct inspections was agreed upon during a meeting of the commission on medical issues, writes NikVesti.

The question of inspections was raised by deputy Svitlana Fedorova, who previously showed what the shelter in the regional children's hospital looks like. She stated the need to immediately drive around the facilities to check the condition of the storage facilities and the awareness of the patients and hospital staff of their actions in the event of an air alert.

In response to this, the head of the institution, Oleksandr Plitkin, showed a photo of the prepared shelter and stated that the officials had repeatedly inspected the medical institution, and therefore, if there had been complaints, he would have already known about it.

«We have had the deputy minister and charitable foundations in the hospital on more than one occasion, and Yurii Isaiovych has been to us dozens of times. Once again, we inspected the premises, we even have photos. I think that if the deputy received any reports of violations in the plan to visit the storage, it should have been immediately reported to the director of the facility. And accumulating complaints is a crime,» said Oleksandr Plitkin.

«I suggested that immediately after the commission I go to several institutions and check. Do not look at the beautiful photos that you show, but go to the third and fourth floors and ask the patients, whom, by the way, you do not allow to leave the wards during an alarm, where do they go during an alarm? Ask the staff,» answered Svitlana Fedorova.

«I will not comment on this nonsense. We have been in shelters since the beginning of the war. People came to us from nearby houses,» Oleksandr Plitkin noted.

At the same time, other deputies supported the idea of checks, noting that the safety of people on the territory of hospitals is currently the most priority issue.

«I support Svetlana Fedorivna. She has a very rational proposal. This is a question that concerns us all. I am in favor of conducting an unannounced inspection, but I cannot personally be present at the moment. I would really like to see if there are any shelters in the base hospitals. During the alarm, not only patients go down, but also residents and patients,» said deputy Olena Masalitina during the commission.

The head of the commission, Iryna Shabilianova, also supported the initiative, but emphasized that neither the time of the checks nor the exact locations where they will be held will be published online.

The decision was supported by 4 of the deputies, Oleksandr Plitkin abstained.

We will remind that they want to build a new protective structure on the territory of the communal enterprise «Mykolaiv Regional Children's Clinical Hospital». They plan to spend 69 million 809 thousand 400 hryvnias on this.

Inadequate condition of hospitals

We will remind that after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized the condition of the wards in the Mykolaiv Regional Children's Hospital, they started repairing the surgical department and installed air conditioners in eight wards.

After this incident, the head of Mykolayiv RMA Vitalii Kim drew attention to the low speed of work of the temporary commission of the regional council on the inspection of medical institutions. He also called on residents of Mykolaiv to send complaints and suggestions regarding changes in the medical system to e-mail, so that these appeals will be considered by the relevant group. After anonymous complaints, Vitalii Kim announced the dismissal of the chief doctors of the medical facilities if he was convinced of their incompetence.

Vitalii Kim also appointed Anton Tabunshchyk, the first deputy chairman of the Mykolaiv Regional Council, to be responsible for correcting deficiencies in hospitals complained about by Mykolaiv residents.
