Border guards repelled an attack by the Russian SRG in Sumy Oblast / State Border ServiceRussian saboteurs do not stop trying to penetrate the territory of Ukraine.
As the State Border Service said, the other day in Sumy Oblast, border guards who were carrying out a combat mission on one of the directions of the state border were ambushed by an enemy sabotage and reconnaissancegroup (SRG), which illegally crossed the state border of Ukraine.
A shooting battle ensued between the Ukrainian defenders and the enemy's SRG, which numbered more than a dozen people.
To strengthen the direction of the approach of the occupiers' SRG, the reserves of units of the State Border Service and other components of the Defense Forces advanced, the military deployed artillery and mortar calculations.
«Coordinated actions of border guards and other members of the Defense Forces of Ukraine thwarted the enemy's plans, forcing the enemy to retreat,» the State Border Service noted.
We will remind that at the beginning of April, a Russian sabotage and intelligence group also tried to enter the Sumy region from enemy territory. But the border guards repelled the Russian attack.
