Another branch of the city centre for veterans will be opened in the Korabelnyi district of Mykolaiv in cooperation with Denmark.
This was announced by Viktor Moiseiev, director of the Mykolaiv City Centre for Veterans Support, in a comment to NikVesti.
According to him, the new space will be a branch of the veterans support centre and, at the same time, a platform for cooperation with Denmark.
«As a result of our cooperation with Denmark, we decided to open the Ukraine-Denmark space. We cooperate with Danish veterans, and in order for our work to be effective, we need a suitable venue. The Mykolaiv City Council supported this idea, and the space is currently being fully prepared. Denmark and the UN are helping with the repairs,» said Viktor Moiseiev.
He added that the branch will provide the same services as the main centre, but on a slightly smaller scale: physical rehabilitation, psychological assistance, legal advice, and specialist support for veterans. The space will also serve as a place for veterans living in the Korabelnyi district to socialise.
«It will be a model of our centre, only in a smaller format. If more extensive physical rehabilitation is needed, people will be able to contact the main centre,» explained Viktor Moiseiev.
There is also already a branch of the veterans' support centre in Mykolaiv, located in the Inhulskyi district at 26 Mykolaivska Street. Events are held there on a regular basis, a representative of the centre is always present, and psychological assistance, legal advice and other services are provided to veterans.
Earlier, Viktor Moiseiev stated that there are enough specialists to support veterans in Mykolaiv, but after the war ends, many more may be needed. The city is only preparing for a situation where the number of veterans will increase significantly and they will need systematic support and assistance.
We would like to remind you that a meeting between Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych and representatives of veterans' organisations took place in Mykolaiv. The mayor stated that veterans returning to the city need support and access to social assistance.
