According to them, the structures are worn out and dangerous for children, and the playground itself has long been in need of repair.
Local resident Kateryna Holovanova reported the problem to the Contact Centre at the Mykolaiv City Council.
She noted that this is one of the few playgrounds in the area where children from the surrounding streets come to play, but due to its condition, parents are concerned for their safety.
«Yunist Park. It is very sad to see the only playground in the area in such a condition. Given that it is getting warmer outside, there are more children, but the constant problem is where to go with your child? Yunist Park, a playground on Teatralna Street, 27, is in a terrible and dangerous condition. Children from all over the neighbourhood have nowhere to go. Please repair and renovate the playground!» wrote Kateryna Holovanova.

As of August 2024, 93% of playgrounds in Mykolaiv were transferred to the balance sheet of the municipal enterprise Pilot Single Customer Directorate. In total, almost 19 million hryvnias were allocated from the city budget this year for the repair of 120 playgrounds.
As of August, 98 playgrounds had been repaired in the city since the beginning of 2025.
