The «Kazka» children’s playground in the Korabelnyi district of Mykolaiv, the condition of which residents have complained about, has turned out to be unclaimed. Its territory is not assigned to any of the surrounding buildings. The Korabelny district administration is due to organise a clean-up there by 10 June.

This was announced during a live broadcast on 26 May by Olena Liashko, head of the Public Works Department of the Korabelnyi District Administration, according to NikVesti.

As a reminder, the playground is located in the courtyard of buildings 32-32A-34-36-38-38A on Okeanivska Street. Residents describe it as abandoned, as it has not been maintained for a long time and rubbish has not been cleared from the site.

DEZ Pilot told NikVesti that the structures at the playground would be refurbished. Residents confirmed that the council workers had indeed painted the playground.

But the issue of rubbish collection remains unresolved.

When contacting the residents’ associations in the surrounding buildings, it was not possible to ascertain who is responsible for mowing the grass and cleaning the playground. The Korabelnyi District administration, responding to a question from NikVesti regarding the maintenance of the playground, stated that the area is large but is not assigned to anyone.

«The «Kazka» children’s playground, located in the courtyard of buildings 32, 32A, 34, 36, 38 and 38A, covers a large area. As it has not been assigned to the relevant buildings, the playground area has been periodically cleaned by the Korabelny District Administration,» said Olena Liashko, head of the urban improvement department.

Until a responsible body is designated, the Korabelnyi District administration is to carry out the cleaning of the playground. They intend to do this once.

«Given that this playground is used by residents of the neighbouring residential buildings, the district administration is raising the issue of an equal division of the area between the specified addresses. Until this issue is resolved, the Korabelnyi District Administration plans to carry out a one-off clean-up of the playground by 10 June,» added Olena Liashko.

As a reminder, the renovation of playgrounds in Mykolaiv continues: 62 sites have already been refurbished since the start of the year. However, no new playgrounds will be built in the city for the time being due to budget constraints.
