Volodymyr Ocheretnyuk, Director of Network Development for the Mykolaiv and Kherson Regions at JSC Ukrposhta, responded to a statement by the representative of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights regarding the unsatisfactory condition of post offices in Mykolaiv.

In a comment to NikVesti, he said that the problems do exist, but the situation is not as critical as it is being presented publicly.

«Let's take it step by step. We have branches with generators. Another issue is that they break down because they work non-stop for 7 hours. I wouldn't say that the branches are bad,» said Volodymyr Ocheretniuk.

He explained that some wards are already being renovated or prepared for renovation. In particular, in ward №34, they plan to replace the floor covering and renovate the premises closer to summer.

«In branch №34, we will replace the linoleum and carry out repairs closer to summer. Overall, 80% of the problem depends on repairs and furniture. Yes, we do have some problematic branches,» he admitted.

Volodymyr Ocheretniuk also commented on the situation with the wards in Matviivka.

«In Matviivka, Ternivka and Kulbakyne, there are physically no premises where we could move. And here Mr Spartak is being a little disingenuous. But that's his job, his set of tasks: everything is bad. There are no vacant premises there, we want to, but we can't. When you know this from the inside, you look at it differently. Not everything is perfect for us, but when everyone is levelled by one or two branches, and we have 30 of them in Mykolaiv, it's a little offensive,» said the representative of Ukrposhta.

He also stressed that the company does not receive funding from the state budget and carries out all repairs at its own expense.

«We are a joint-stock company owned by the state. We do not receive funds from the budget, and we carry out our economic activities at our own expense. Ukrposhta does not receive a penny from the state, no subsidies. We earn, we spend. Everyone forgets about this, but on the contrary, we are one of the largest taxpayers,» emphasised Volodymyr Ocheretniuk.

We would like to remind you that Spartak Hukasian, representative of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights in the Mykolaiv region, showed the conditions in which Ukrposhta branches in Mykolaiv operate , which are used daily mainly by pensioners and residents of the city with limited mobility.
