Mykolaiv region among leaders of autumn sowing campaign in Ukraine

As of 7 October, Ukrainian farmers have sown 3.55 million hectares of winter crops, which is almost half of the projected area. Work continues in all regions of the country.
According to the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv and Poltava regions are among the leaders in terms of winter grain sowing.
In total, Ukraine has already sown
- winter wheat — 2.35 million hectares
- winter barley — 179.2 thousand hectares;
- winter rye — 45.7 thousand hectares.
In addition, Mykolaiv region is one of the three regions with the largest winter rapeseed crops, along with Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi. In total, 985.3 thousand hectares have been planted with this crop, and in 13 regions rapeseed sowing has been fully completed.
It is worth noting that Mykolaiv region is also among the regions with the largest number of agricultural enterprises. As of the end of June this year, almost 6.8 thousand agricultural companies were registered in the region.
