«The roof is old, leaking everywhere»: Mykolaiv concert hall «Yunist» will have its roof replaced for ₴3.3 million

The roof of the Mykolaiv Concert Hall «Yunist» is to be overhauled. 3.3 million hryvnias is planned for this work.

In a commentary to NikVesti, Oleksii Savchuk, director of the Capital Construction Department of the City Council, explained that the roof of the «Yunist» concert hall is currently leaking.

«The roof is really in very poor condition. There was a request from the balance holder to preserve what is inside, because it has been more or less well repaired. In general, it is not normal for the roof to leak. And today, it seems to be the only place that hosts Ukrainian pop stars and where our residents can relax during these events. This is the face of our city,» said Oleksii Savchuk.

Project documentation was previously developed to repair the roof, he added. 240 thousand hryvnias were spent on these works.

«Therefore, we have developed project documentation and have now announced a tender to replace this roof. There is an old roofing felt roof, it leaks everywhere: in one place it leaks somewhere, and in others it appears and it is impossible to detect it locally.

So it's better to do it once everywhere so that we don't have to go back to it in the near future. We will also equip the roof with lightning protection — these are the requirements of the regulations,» he added.

The contractor will have to replace the roof of the «Yunist» concert hall and install lightning protection by 30 March 2026, according to the tender documents.

The process of submitting bids from future bidders is currently underway, and the contractor will be selected after 18 September.

Earlier it was reported that Mykolaiv City Palace of Culture «Molodizhnyi» announced a tender for the repair of a shelter in the concert hall «Yunist» for 900,000 hryvnias.
