The rating of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has declined — 58% of Ukrainians currently trust him.

This is according to a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS).

Back in early June, trust in the president was higher — 65%. However, against the backdrop of the scandalous law that abolished the independence of the anti-corruption agencies NABU and SAPO, it has fallen by 7 percentage points.

At the same time, the level of distrust has increased from 30% to 35%. The decrease in the positive balance of trust indicates a gradual loss of public support.

The level of trust decreased the most in western Ukraine — from 73% in June to 55% in August. In the central regions, the figure remained unchanged at 63%. In the south and east, there was a moderate decline to 54-55%.

According to KIIS, trust has decreased the most among young people under 30 — while at the beginning of summer 74% trusted the President, now it is 59%.

Most often, respondents expressed dissatisfaction with corruption mainly in the form of corruption in the country or in the government, and only in rare cases did they accuse the President himself of corruption and the war.

As a reminder, on 31 July, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed Law №13533, which restores the powers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office. Earlier, it was supported by the Verkhovna Rada.
