The roof of an apartment building in Zavodskyi district of Mykolaiv has been repaired after it was severely damaged by a kamikaze drone attack.
This was reported by the Mykolaiv City Council.
The damage occurred on 10 April during a Russian shelling. Nine residential buildings were damaged in the area. Utilities helped the residents to sew up the windows and clean up the damage.
In one of the houses, a drone destroyed about 80% of the roof. As the house remained inhabited, the Department of Housing and Communal Services of Mykolaiv City Council began restoration work.
«Some of the materials for the repairs were allocated from the city's reserve. The contractor fully restored the roof trusses and roof covering. Today, the roof has been completely restored, which allowed us to protect the residents' homes from precipitation and further damage», said Artem Sapozhnyk, Deputy Director of the Housing and Communal Services Department.
According to him, all the work was carried out efficiently and in the shortest possible time — the repairs lasted about two months after the shelling.
As a reminder, on 10 April, the Russian army launched a group of attack drones in the Mykolaiv region. During the attack, fires broke out in two districts in Mykolaiv.
Later, it became known that on the night of 10 April, the air defence forces destroyed 28 drones over the Mykolaiv region «Shahed 131/136».
