Active work is underway in Odesa to reconstruct an inclusive beach at the 11th station of the Big Fountain, with its opening scheduled for the end of June.

This was reported by the Odesa City Council.

As a reminder, 19.5 million hryvnias was allocated from the city budget for the overhaul and re-equipment of the beach infrastructure at the 11th station of the Big Fountain.

The inclusive beach «Dolphin» is also being prepared for opening. Further plans include expanding its territory with a sea water pool.

This is due to the annual increase in the number of people with disabilities and, accordingly, the growing need for inclusive locations.

«Currently, Odesa is the only city in Ukraine where veterans and people with disabilities have the opportunity to undergo marine rehabilitation. That is why the municipality is responsible for creating the appropriate conditions, as envisaged by the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Space in Ukraine», said Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov.

The relevant changes will be made to the target programme and will involve the allocation of funds from the city budget.

The Department of Engineering Protection of the City Territory and Coastal Development has been appointed as the customer for the design and reconstruction of the inclusive beach «Dolphin».

As a reminder, Mykolaiv region is preparing to open the sea beach season in the summer of 2025, if security conditions allow.
