The Mykolaiv Court of Appeals upheld the sentence of a resident of Odesa, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in May 2023 for cooperation with Russian intelligence and preparation of sabotage.

The meeting on Tuesday, January 16, was held in the format of a video conference, during which the man was given the last word, the correspondent of NikVesti reports.

Convicted 41-year-old Anton Mysyk was a former official of the criminal investigation department of the disbanded militia. In the first months of the war, a man installed hidden GSM cameras on certain sections of the Odesa railway. He passed on information about the movement of the equipment of the Armed Forces of Russia to the special services of Russia.

According to the investigation, the convict also planned to carry out a series of terrorist attacks on the railway, for which he purchased explosives, electric detonators and radio components to create remote-controlled mines. All devices were found at his home during a search.

The man was arrested in October 2022 when he came to check one of his «camera traps» near the cemetery in a destroyed railway building, where a briefcase with a camera was fixed on the window.

In May 2023, the Malynovskyi District Court of Odesa sentenced Anton Mysyk to life imprisonment with confiscation of property. According to the results of the review, the panel of judges of the Mykolaiv Court of Appeals left the defense's complaint unsatisfied, and the court's verdict remained unchanged.

The case of Mykolaiv prosecutor Hennadii Herman

In early April 2022, the head of the Mykolaiv District Prosecutor's Office was detained for cooperation with the occupiers. Prosecutor Hennadii Herman was arrested.

In January 2023, during a court hearing in the Prymorskyi District Court of Odesa, it became known that the prosecutor, who was accused of treason, passed on data to the Russian propaganda blogger Yurii Podoliak and one of the leaders of the «DNR», the field commander of the illegal armed formation «Donbas Militia» Ihor Bezler.

Then the traitorous prosecutor admitted that he was directing fire at the building of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, which was hit by a cruise missile in March 2022.

On June 28, 2023, according to the decision of the Odessa court, Herman was found guilty of treason.

On August 10, 2023, the Mykolaiv public prosecutor's lawyers filed an appeal. On September 15, the appeal was heard in the Odesa Court of Appeal.

Hennadii Herman is also associated with launching a missile attack in March 2022 on the barracks in Mykolaiv, where a large number of soldiers died.
