The graphic design and 3D printing studio of the social enterprise «The Tavrian Painting Workshop» in Mykolaiv were opened in February this year. It is an educational space where you can study, work on projects in design, urbanism, architecture, and create your own models using modern technologies.
This was reported by NikVesti.
The head of the studio, Denys Honcharuk, said that the space operates as a social enterprise. It organises 3D modelling and printing classes for schoolchildren, students and adults.
«This studio opened in February 2025, and the course in 3D modelling and printing started at the same time. It is open to people of all ages, from school students to adults. At first glance, it may seem that the main thing is 3D printing itself, but in fact it is just a tool for implementing ideas. This studio is a social enterprise and we have two areas of focus: training people and selling printed parts,» says Denys Honcharuk, head of the 3D printing studio.
The studio seeks to involve young people from Mykolaiv region — veterans, students, IDPs and community activists — in order to engage them in the processes of restoring and developing the region's communities. They run educational courses and workshops where participants gain new knowledge and create their own projects and concepts.
«I really enjoyed getting started in the GPT chat. I set the parameters of what I wanted to see in the picture, and it generated it,» says Yana, a student of the course.
«For example, a flowerpot. I used to make it in FUSION 360. And it was more difficult to make it there, because I had to make a cube first. Then I had to make another cube to make the inside of it, the bottom,» says Dmytro, a student of the course.
Student Olena is taking a 3D printing course so that she can use this knowledge to help teach children with special needs. «It is important for them to be able to work with new technologies that make the learning process more exciting and accessible,» she says.
«Firstly, it was basic knowledge: now I understand how to approach a printer, what materials to use and how they behave in operation,» says Olena, a student of the course.
Denys, the head of the studio, said that he is most inspired by the progress of the students, who demonstrate confidence and results from the first lessons to the end of the course.
«I saw it on their faces: at first they were scared, and in the last classes they smiled because they already know how to do it and understand that they have created something with their own hands. "My sincere wish is that every student, after completing the course, will be able to implement any of their ideas with the help of the knowledge gained here,» said Denys Honcharuk.
The space was opened thanks to the cooperation of the NGO «Adult Education and Training Centre «South» with international partners: DVV International in Ukraine, ADRA, Credit Agricole Bank, AFUCO, the Danish Government and UNDP.
As a reminder, an exhibition of works by participants of the international project «Art against the clock» was presented in Mykolaiv. Here, Ukrainian youth tried to comprehend the influence of politics, history and culture on their lives and their formation as individuals through art.
