In Mykolaiv, several trees fell in different parts of the city due to deteriorating weather conditions, some of which blocked roads and damaged cars.

This was reported by Roman Vozniak, head of the Department of Emergency Situations and Civil Protection of the Mykolaiv City Council, in a comment to NikVesti.

According to him, rescuers from the 10th platoon of the State Military Mountain Rescue Unit of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine are involved in dealing with the aftermath of the bad weather.

«I can say that the 10th platoon of the State Emergency Service is currently working on five addresses. In particular, in the Kulbakyne microdistrict, a tree fell and blocked the road. A poplar fell on Heroes of Ukraine Avenue. On Ihor Bedzai Street, a birch fell on a car. Also, on 16 Kolodiazna Street, poplar trees fell on a car, and another tree fell in Varvarivka. These are the addresses I remember from those we worked on. At the same time, some of the emergency trees are being dealt with by the municipal services of the company «Mykolaiv parks»,» said Roman Vozniak.

According to him, rescuers left about 20 minutes ago for an address in Kulbakine, where a tree blocked the road, and are currently on their way or already working on site.

Due to the forecasted deterioration of weather conditions and icy roads, the situation with dangerous trees in Mykolaiv may repeat itself tomorrow.

«Given that we expect weather conditions to deteriorate overnight and icy conditions from tomorrow, unfortunately, in my opinion, icing could lead to a continuation of this situation. Therefore, I appeal to everyone not to leave their cars in green areas, under trees and near power lines, as this currently poses a risk,» said Roman Vozniak.

Earlier it was reported that in Mykolaiv, as a result of bad weather, dangerous trees fell on a parked car. In particular, one of the cases was recorded in the courtyard of a house on Kolodiazna Street, 16. Residents say that they repeatedly appealed to the municipal enterprise «Mykolaiv Parks» with a request to remove dangerous trees. However, according to them, the municipal services only partially trimmed the branches and did not solve the problem completely.
