Denmark is launching a large-scale support programme for Ukraine, the Ukraine Transition Programme, with a budget of €375 million.
This was announced by Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen during a joint briefing in Kyiv with First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha, reports NikVesti with reference to «Ukrinform».
«Today, we are presenting a new programme, which is the largest and most ambitious in the history of Danish development assistance. Its goal is to strengthen Ukraine's resilience, help meet the basic needs of the population, support «green» transition, create better conditions for private sector development and promote democratic and institutional reforms that are essential for EU accession,» Rasmussen said.
He also stressed that Denmark will further develop cooperation in the defence sector: Danish companies will strengthen their work with Ukrainian partners, and Ukrainian businesses will be encouraged to set up production in Denmark.
«We already have a breakthrough: Firepoint has announced the launch of production lines in Denmark. I am convinced that other Ukrainian companies will follow suit. This will benefit both countries,» said the Danish Foreign Minister.
As a reminder, «NikVesti» previously reported that the EU would provide Ukraine with an additional €40 million to prepare for the winter.
