US Vice President J.D. Vance has said that Russia's war against Ukraine will not end anytime soon.
In an interview with Fox News, he noted that both sides have put forward their peace proposals, and now the main question is whether a compromise can be found to end the conflict.
Vance expressed his belief that only Donald Trump is capable of reaching a peace agreement, but the final decision depends on the Ukrainian and Russian sides, as they must reach an agreement.
The official also stressed that Ukrainians «are angry with Russia because it attacked», and the war is likely to continue.
Earlier, J.D. Vance noted that there is a significant difference between Ukraine and Russia in their vision of ending the war, so the Trump administration will work to bring the positions of both sides closer together within 100 days.
Earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Washington would work on peace talks as long as necessary. However, their success depends not only on the United States, but primarily on Ukraine and Russia.
Earlier, «Evropeiska Pravda» wrote that the document does not contain a number of provisions stated by the Ukrainian government. In particular, it does not set out the principles of the fund's management, nor does it mention the intention to reinvest all proceeds in the reconstruction of Ukraine over the next ten years. These conditions should be included in the next agreement, which is still being prepared by the parties.
Subsequently, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine published the full text of the agreement on cooperation in the field of subsoil use, which was signed with the United States government on 1 May in Washington.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the signing of the agreement on minerals between Ukraine and the United States, noting that the document had already been sent to the parliament for consideration. The President stressed the importance of avoiding delays in its adoption.
