Ukraine does not rule out any of the formats that can lead to a ceasefire and, in the future, to real peace. But stopping the killings is the number one priority.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on his official Telegram channel.
The President noted that Ukraine insists on an immediate, complete and unconditional ceasefire. But this is possible only when Russia agrees to it and stops the killings.
«On Easter, we achieved a decrease in the intensity of hostilities and the absence of air alerts. Ukraine has proposed to extend this state of silence for at least 30 days and make the ceasefire complete. We are also ready for an immediate ceasefire, at least on civilian objects, and have already stated this. This should be a common first priority with all partners — saving lives», Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote.
He added that «Peace can come in silence, and the first sign of silence is the absence of terror».
«We met with partners in Paris. We continue today in London — the Ukrainian delegation has already started meetings. Ukraine has repeatedly said that it does not rule out any of the formats that can lead to a ceasefire and, subsequently, to real peace. Stopping the killings is the number one task», the President said.
As a reminder, the United States is proposing a peace agreement that stipulates that both Ukraine and Russia must cede part of the territories they currently control. It also includes a freeze on the conflict along the current line of contact.
DiVance also said that the Americans may refuse to mediate in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine if they do not receive a positive response.
We would also like to remind you that the United States handed over to Ukraine a document containing «the final» peace proposal, which provides for the actual recognition of part of the occupied territories by Russia, including Crimea. The document, which was handed over to Ukrainian officials in Paris, describes the proposal as an initiative of President Donald Trump. The United States has said it will withdraw from the negotiation process if an agreement is not reached soon.
