Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that Russia will stop hostilities from 19 to 21 April.
This was reported by the Kremlin's press service.
According to Vladimir Putin, the «Easter truce» will take effect from 18:00 on 19 April and will last until 00:00 on 21 April. During this period, the Russian leader ordered «to stop all hostilities», but added that Russian troops «should be ready to repel possible ceasefire violations and provocations».
As of 17:00, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had not commented on this information.
It should also be noted that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that US President Donald Trump is ready to stop trying to mediate in the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia if there are no clear signs of a peace agreement in the coming days.
Moscow reacted to the US statement and said that there is «some progress» in negotiations to resolve the war against Ukraine, but recognises that the process is «quite difficult». They noted that a sign of progress was allegedly Russia's compliance with the moratorium on strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
At the same time, Russia stressed that the one-month moratorium on shelling of Ukraine's energy infrastructure had ended.
