Zelenskyy says Trump's approach «peace through strength» applies exclusively to Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that US President Donald Trump's approach to war, based on the principle of «peace through strength», is currently only applicable to Ukraine.

In an interview with CBS News' 60 Minutes, Zelenskyy said the United States has cut off military assistance and intelligence sharing, «realising how painful it would be for Ukraine» because of Russian ballistic missile strikes and Ukrainian casualties.

The condition that would unblock intelligence sharing was a ceasefire. Ukraine agreed to this. But Russia continued its attacks on civilian infrastructure. In other words, first, Kyiv was blocked from receiving aid, and then an offer was made that would restore it.

In return, the Russians were offered, but nothing was blocked or restricted.

«It turns out that peace through force works in one direction and only in ours. And I believe that this is an unfair approach», Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The President also added that Vladimir Putin never wanted to end the war, so the ceasefire does not work.

As a reminder, US President Donald Trump said that the strike by Russian troops on the city of Sumy, which killed at least 34 people, could have been a «mistake». He said this during a conversation with journalists.
