Russia attacked Mykolaiv: more than 20 houses and a sports facility were damaged

On the night of February 8, the Russian army attacked Mykolaiv UAV type «Shahed 131/136». Communal and private enterprises came under another hostile attack by the Russian military.

This was reported by the mayor of Mykolaiv Oleksandr Sienkevych.

Currently, it is known that more than 20 residential buildings — private and multi-story and office buildings — have been damaged. The Mykolayiv RMA clarified that the sports facility was also damaged as a result of the attack.

«Fortunately, there were no casualties. Utility crews will clear the area of debris and debris. We are also loading building materials now,» the mayor wrote.

In Mykolaiv Oblast State Emergency Department reported that the private housing sector was damaged in Mykolaiv. At night, a fire broke out at the place of arrival.

«There was also partial destruction and a fire broke out at the sports facility,» the rescuers reported.

Two fires with an area of 150 and 60 square meters were promptly extinguished.

In general, three Russian «shaheds» were shot down by Air Defense Forces over the Mykolaiv region. At the same time, during the day, the enemy attacked Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities with artillery.

«On the morning of February 7, at 07:56 and 08:54, the enemy fired artillery at the water area of the Ochakiv community. There are no casualties,» the RMA said in a statement.

Later, at 09:14, the settlement of the Kutsurub community was hit by an enemy UAV of the «Lancet» type, and at 09:25, the enemy directed an FPV drone along the coastline of the community.

«In addition, yesterday, February 7, at 10:05 a.m., 10:51 a.m. and 3:48 p.m., enemy artillery shelling was recorded in the settlements of the Kutsurub community. As a result, the residential building was damaged,» said the head of the RMA Vitalii Kim.

Attack on Mykolaiv on February 7

The first blows to the city sounded around 6 in the morning. As it became known later, Mykolaiv was attacked by «Shahed» and rockets.

Initially, the mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, reported that the roofs of about 20 residential buildings were blown off due to the explosions. City construction crews went to the scene, and residents are being assisted.

Later, the RMA added that a technical building was damaged in the territory of the infrastructure facility as a result of shelling. There was a fire there.

The State Emergency Service reported that more than 40 rescuers and 6 units of equipment are working to eliminate the consequences.

Leonid Hlove, a resident of Mykolaiv and an employee of the Mykolaiv branch of «Gazmerezha», was injured by a missile strike. The man was hospitalized, but due to a significant number of injuries, he died in intensive care.
