The State Bureau of Investigation reported that it had exposed two military men who helped hide suspects in the shooting of police officers in Vinnytsia region.

One of them has already been detained, the department's press service reports.

It is noted that on April 20, after the shooting of the police officers, the attackers decided to flee abroad and asked for help from familiar military personnel. One of them also voluntarily left the military unit in Odesa region.

On April 24, the SBI detained one of the servicemen.

Currently, for concealing a serious crime, a military serviceman has been notified of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 396 of the Criminal Code, and another, who voluntarily left the military unit, has been notified of suspicion under Part 5 of Article 407 of the Criminal Code.

Attack on policemen in Vinnytsia region

We will remind, on April 20, at night in the Gaysyn district of the Vinnytsia region, police officers stopped an unknown car for inspection. There were two men in the car who opened fire on the policemen.

The law enforcement officers also found a car in which there were suspects in the murder of a police officer in Vinnytsia region. On April 21, it became known that the attackers of policemen were detained in Odesa region and face life imprisonment.

The men were charged with murder and attempted murder of police officers, as well as desertion. The sanction of the article provides imprisonment for a term of 9 to 15 years or life imprisonment.

According to Ihor Klymenko, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the suspects were transporting ammunition and grenades in the car, which were then thrown into the reservoir.
